My passion for this endeavor began after moving to Aspen in 1982 from Minnesota. I began my career at Aspen Sports, working for 8 years and familiarizing myself with the outdoor sports world. After embracing all that the Roaring Fork Valley had to offer in terms of the outdoors, I pursued a second career in Aspen’s industrious hospitality scene including working at Red Onion for 6 years as a bartender. While there, I began a custom furniture business and a painting business with a partner for the next 18 years, learning about the inner workings of the community, and also appreciating and observing the balance of people, flaura and fauna in our RFV environment. While semi-retired, I was witness to a wild land fire in Flagstaff that was situated near the highway close to town. As I saw flames, and people fleeing with minimal life possessions in their hands, I felt that something could be done to prevent these life-changing disasters. I am passionate about helping homeowners and firefighters with this cause. Noting the hazards that accom- pany a wild land fire, and the loss of possessions, animals, and memories, I looked at my background and hired a biochemist. This biochemist helped me develop my foam to come up with a safe-use formula. Ultimately, I received 3 patents. I believe my biode- gradable fire-resistant foam will be a great help to these homeowners, firefighters, businesses, and land owners to preserve and protect. My foam could save homes, memories, and thousands of gallons of water and lives.
